Letter in support of the PACT Centre for Emerging Artists
After reading about the financial difficulties faced by Erskineville’s much loved PACT Centre for Emerging Artists, we decided to write the below letter of support to help their Create NSW application.
PACT are encouraging people to show their support by sharing a photo or story of their fondest memories at PACT using the hashtag #WeNeedPACT as well as tagging them on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

To Whom It May Concern,
On behalf of the Friends of Erskineville community group, I write in support of PACT Centre for Emerging Artists application for funding.
Friends of Erskineville is a fully constituted local resident organisation, formed out of a need for community action to support our vibrant inner city village. We advocate for local improvements in our area, and to foster an inclusive community spirit. A vital part of that is the creative and arts sector.
PACT plays an extremely important role in the Erskineville community.
We were delighted to hear of the work PACT was able to achieve in renovating the foyer space of the building into a white box / gallery space. We believe this space will increase visitation and participation in the programs at PACT. It will also be wonderful for artists, offering an alternative income stream with the ability to sell their works in the gallery.
Further, we are also thrilled to hear of the Mural project by First Nations Artist Jason Wing, planning for the PACT façade. The current frontage of the building does not yet speak to the creativity happening inside the venue. This mural would be transformative in the organisation’s creative plight. Friends of Erskineville would celebrate an iconic mural like the one proposed as an invaluable addition to the streetscape and culture of our suburb.
We would be happy to speak further about the value of the PACT and its programs.
